Project Description:
The KSS Corridor Connection is a project that will make the connection between the new South Tower and the existing North Tower on each floor except the 5th floor. This project will be split into 4 phases as outlined on the plans. The corridor extensions were built on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors that stop short about 12” to 18” of connecting to the existing North Tower on all floors. The 4th floor connection corridor will build a new corridor across the 3rd floor roof of the existing North Tower. This will require all new support structure, new roof with revised drainage slopes and drains. All new expansion joints and flashings at the existing tower roof will be required. This work will also install a new mechanical curb in preparation to receive a new HVAC unit (under another project). The under roof structural work will be completed within the third floor ICU shell space and roof above. The 2nd and 3rd floor corridors will connect into demolished and shelled ICU units with a newly framed corridor running through the shelled area. Doors will be installed on each side of the new corridor to proved access to the shell space on each side of the corridor. The main disruption to the facility will be noise, vibration and material access to and from the job.
An existing five story stairwell, Stair #4 (Used as the second exit from the old ICU floors in the north tower) will be demolished to clear the path for the new corridor tie-ins on all floors. This phase of the project will be one of the most sensitive and disruptive to the facility.
All crane work will be limited by the owner to weekends and afterhours work.

10:30am to Noon – Drywall, Seismic Joint Covers and all other trades
